The Gregor Mendel Foundation
Plant breeders wish for a more intensive public discourse on the necessity and the importance of plant breeding. To this end, they have established the Gregor Mendel Foundation in Bonn on 5 November 2002. The Gregor Mendel Foundation is a discussion forum for tomorrow's problems and the role of plants in solving them. The conferences and discussions organised by the Gregor Mendel Stiftung have attracted interdisciplinary attention and successfully provide networking opportunities to the worlds of science, economy and decision-makers.
The Gregor Mendel Foundation works towards innovation-friendly framework conditions for plant science and research. It awards the Gregor Mendel Innovation Prize to honour outstanding contributions to plant breeding.
