Bonn, 3 September 2009. After 18 years of service, Dr. Ferdinand Schmitz, Secretary General of the German Plant Breeders' Association (BDP), will cease to direct the affairs of BDP by April 2010. He will take on a responsible position in the private industry. He has given notice to the Board of Directors on Monday. BDP has acknowledged his decision with great regret.
